In the spring and summer, the marine layer can reach pretty far inland, but almost always burns off in the late morning or early afternoon. When the temperature and wind is just right, it dissipates quickly. I caught this shift in the coastal hills of Orange County, the valley floor in full sunlight and hills in the shadows of the clouds.
